Narrative

We will be working towards writing our own adventure story based on Grandad’s Island.

  • In Art we will explore the work of some architects such as Hundertwasser.
  • We will discuss what we like about different architecture and what is interesting about them.
  • We will explore being an architect and create our own model or building.

  • We will be learning about some of the stories Jesus told and why these are important to Christians today.

 

Music

  • We will be exploring pitch, volume, rhythm, pulse, loudness and speed using a program called ‘Charanga’

Useful Information

First day of term: Monday 15th April

Last day of term: Friday 24th May

Y1 trip to Perlerthorpe – Wednesday 8th May

PE – Invasion games

PE is on Monday’s this half-term.

Please ensure your child has a white t-shirt, tracksuit trousers/leggings, a sweatshirt and trainers/pumps.

It’s useful to leave your child’s PE kit in school all week (or all half term) just in case the day has to change last minute. Please name all pieces of clothing.

Homework

Homework will be set each Friday and is to be handed in by the following Wednesday. The children have a list of homework pages in the front of their Maths homework books.

Reading 

Reading books will be changed every week.  Please write in your child’s diary each time they read at home so they can earn reading points! This should be at least 3 times a week!

Spelling test

Spelling test will be every Monday morning.
