What We Offer

At Sir Edmund Hillary Academy we take children from the age of 2 years in our nursery through to 11 years.

Nursery

Our nursery provision can be accessed through a paid or funded place through the Working Parent or Disadvantaged Entitlements.  Once children turn 3 years old, they can access their 15 hour (universal) or 30 hour Working Parent Entitlement starting in January or April of the term.

Nursery runs from 8.30-11.30am and 12.30-3.30pm.  The session can sometimes be extended to include a lunch.

Foundation 1 and 2

From Nursery, children can move up to Foundation 1 where we have children who are in their last full year of 15 or 30 hour entitlements.  These sessions run from 8.30-11.30am and 12.30-3.30pm. Sessions can sometimes be extended to include a lunch.

In the year that children turn five they are statutory school age and should be in full time education, attending Foundation 2/Reception.  These sessions run from 8.50am – 3.20pm and lunch is provided for all children.

To apply for a place in Foundation 1, please contact us.  To apply for a place in Foundation 2/Reception, you must apply through Nottinghamshire Local Authority.

Key Stages 1 & 2

These Key Stages are sometimes also called Infant and Junior and are split by children’s ages 5-7 years are Key Stage 1 Year Groups 1&2, and 7-11 years are Key Stage 2 Year Groups 3 to 6.

These sessions run from 8.45- 3.30. A lunch is provided for all KS1 children. Children at KS2 can pay for a school meal or bring a packed lunch.

Breakfast and after school clubs

Our breakfast club runs from 7.30am for children aged 3-11years.

Club Ed is our after school club which runs after school every day until 6.00pm.
